Been into this one a few times recently as it's the closest one to where the site was en route. Great food, hot and prepared properly, very little grease in comparison to some others I've eaten from. The problem with this branch is the service is THE worst I have experienced in the Golden Arches. Went in to get breakfast, not busy when we arrived and parked, only 5 customers inside with 4 sat eating and the 5th was waiting for his food he had ordered from the screen as we entered. Used the screen to order and our food came out about 5 minutes before the other customers food even got to the counter. I had ordered a regular iced strawberry lemonade and when checking the order before leaving (as always), I noticed there was no straw for the drink. I went back to the counter and all staff were in other areas and none were working the counter so I called out and asked for a straw in the hope a staff member would at least acknowledge my request.... Nope, no such luck! 2 members of staff walked past the door on the other side where the drive thru serving window is no acknowledgement. So I called out a second time, louder than the first request but not shouting I have a deep voice and COPD keep in mind and after a couple of minutes of waiting, another member of staff walking past the opening into the kitchen saw me and still no acknowledgement to my request for a straw. So after a couple of minutes waiting again, I raised my voice and projected it throughout the store, over the top of every noise going on but still not shouting. Within less than 5 seconds the manager side stepped out of the area where the drive thru window is, the way he stepped through the door indicated he had been working the other side of the wall and had chosen to ignore me the customer who has been given their order without a straw for the cold drink and none were out in the restaurant area as I had checked this before even going to the counter and he then has the cheek to tell me not to shout, I hadn't shouted I had projected my voice there is a difference between the two. My point is the branch manager chose to ignore a customer making a reasonable request to continue whatever he was doing, (I am an ex kitchen manager) as a manager you are supposed to lead by example no wonder the other staff members didn't acknowledge me with leadership like him leading by example. Are you not also trained as a manager to deal with heated situations by not antagonising the situation by giving attitude or being rude towards the other party, you're supposed to be diplomatic and reassuring in these moments. I truly believe we all have bad days/moments but within your customer service based job role within a company as well branded as McDonald's, you should not direct your bad moments towards others, whether staff and especially not towards a customer. This branch manager requires either further training in the areas raised in this review or demotion to a position where his contact with customers is at a bare minimum. Shame really as otherwise this review would have been different but after this experience in this branch, I really will drive on by this branch from now on. Thanks but NO THANKS, leaving this branch of the Golden Arches to either up and die like the weed it is......
