Service was just ok. we had to flag down the server several times refills but she was very cordial. potato pancakes were gummy. really! this is a German restaurant, this is a standard in the cuisine. three of us had the schnitzel, all 3 were pounded so thin you could hardly find the meat and all three were burnt. my spouse is not very adventurous so she ordered the hot fried chicken without the bun or hot sauce, basically just fried chicken. she couldn't eat any of it as it tasted pickle brined which was not mentioned on the description. the soft pretzels were fresh and hot but the apple strudel was not warm and very difficult to cut. we wont be returning.

I keep trying to patronize this establishment but the food quality just keeps getting lower. For example I recently upgraded my sandwich from fries to potato pancakes. What I got were basic hash browns cooked on a grease free trifle until partially burnt. It was like frozen hash browns had been tossed into a dry frying pan. The cream soups have an excess of flour in them. Burgers are usually good as I’d the spaetzle. The coleslaw always tastes like it’s 2 days past it’s use by date. The beer is very good although occasionally I get one where the tap wasn’t clean. Service is always good. I think I need to quit eating there and just go for a few beers. The outdoor area in summer is excellent.

We love the character of the building. The service was good. Several small things made this visit possibly our last. Dipping sauce for fried pickles was mostly red hot in small tbsp of ranch. I waited about 4 minutes so someone could thaw old store bought dinner rolls and then charge me $2.00 extra, when presented my bill . Lastly if someone thinks the wait staff deserves a 20% to 25% for tips, you will need to show me their wage chart.

A group of us went there for fish dinners back in March, the dinners were soggy and disappointing. The guys complained. I took my family last Saturday for lunch and we waited an hour for our food. One out of five of us actually liked our meal. We won't be returning. The best thing about this restaurant is the beer garden and the live music.
