The Golden Shield - Harborough

We stopped by for a drink after a fantastic shopping trip. The service was outstanding. Michelle, the very pleasant bartender working tonight, was polite, friendly, and chatty. The waiter, known as 'Grandad', delivered our drinks to our table without spilling a drop. We will definitely be returning.

Kian was an exceptional waiter, he was friendly and welcoming at our table. I would highly recommend him - be sure to ask for Kian.

We stopped for dinner on our way back from a week in Derbyshire. As a family of four, we all ordered different dishes and everything was cooked perfectly with generous portions. My husband said it was the best peppercorn sauce he had ever tasted! Stacey, the owner, was very friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend dining at Beaus at the Golden Shield.

A cold restaurant and on mentioning this the landlady became quite aggressive in her approach. No menu except on blackboards. I didn't mention regarding the quality of the food burnt garlic bread and also burnt lasagne and the chips were overly greasy as they had been cooked several times. A very dark and intimidating car park and could ideally do with a sensor light to help. The website had said cosy and I think they meant cold and unfriendly (cold atmosphere). I think that the landlady need some people skills and customer service training.

An ok-ish kinda place. Good for stopping off with your pup for a pint as they're dog-friendly : Nice beer garden.
