El Jimador Mexican Cuisine - Hammond

Went there today with high expectations. I was severely disappointed. There were two waiting staff who barely spoke English enough for ordering. We got our chips and salsa fast enough and the salsa was fine. I ordered fajita bowl and my wife ordered the taco salad with grilled chicken. We were not informed it would cost more for the chicken. I can’t believe they call this a Mexican restaurant it is horrible something as simple as a loaded steak nachos couldn’t be accomplished. They just threw some fajita meat on top of soggy chips. That were drenched in I believe was supposed to be queso cheese, horrible. A total waste of $17 dollars I put it in the garbage because that is the best place for food that is prepared like this if you like good Mexican food don’t go to this restaurant.

Really pleased with our experience. Food was average Mexican restaurant quality/taste. Had the cheese dip, guac, and carnitas. Husband said the ground beef on his taco was some of the most tender and flavorful. Never thought he'd be describing ground beef as tender but it was great. Servers were prompt and nice.

The food of the person that was with me was under cooked. Part of mine looked like it had been sitting out for a while before they gave it to me. The server was cordial. The cat on the roof outside was a nice touch. If you stop by, say hello to Mr. Whiskers.

Food is always good and reasonably priced. A great go-to during a work day.
