Bidrage med feedbackTasty food and not overly expensive. Lots of vegan items on the menu. Everything flavourful, nicely spiced, and the servings are generous and satisfying. The paper dosa is a huge cone of thin, crisp, rice-and-lentil pancake. There are vegetarian and vegan wines available. Popular place, even on a Monday evening. Closed between 3:00 and 5:30 pm, open for lunch and for dinner.
Lots of vegan options and it's totally unique in taste and look of the dishes It was my second time in this place, I would like to go there again if I am nearby
Finally tried Sagar, the vegan and vegetarian South Indian restaurant. They have branches all over London, and I visited their Hammersmith branch, which was very cozy and had a pretty authentic vibe. I obviously needed to try their Dosas, so I went for a Masala Dosa. It was great! The Dosa was beautiful, and the potato and lentil curry inside was really flavourful. Really hits the spot, I’d highly recommend it. Also had a Jaggery Dosa for dessert which was very interesting! I’m not hugely into sweets, so you’d think a dosa filled with chunks of Jaggery would be too much, but the vegan ice cream was just perfect to cut into that sweetness and deliver a very balanced dish and experience. Overall, Sagar has a pretty solid offering of traditional South Indian food that you don’t often find in London. I would highly recommend you give it a try. I’m certainly already planning my next visit to try the rest of their menu! Overall: 8/10 Vegetarian, lots of clearly marked vegan options What we ate: Samosa Stuffed Paratha Masala Dosa Sambar Curry Jaggery Dosa w/ Ice Cream
My family and I have eaten at sagar for many years and the quality has been consistently high. Since the pandemic we have been ordering takeouts more often than eating in and the food has always been delicious. All family and friends we’ve introduced to the restaurant have loved the food. I’ve eaten South Indian food at many places in London and India and Sagar is one of the best. The staff have always been friendly and helpful. The prices are good for this part of London and the portions generous we always have leftovers to eat the next day. Recommended!
My third visit to this restaurant while staying in the area. I'm working my way through the Vegan options on menu. Food based on South Indian food and always interesting. Not fine dining but decent value Indian food. Staff (older men when I've been there) are highly knowledgeable on the menu. I had a vegan Thali and a large Cobra.... Less than £30 and I am stuffed. A Thali is a complete meal including a papadam starter, several small curries and rice, a naan and a dessert. I would have this again.
