Bidrage med feedbackI have lived in Hamilton for a while now and haven't had many opportunities to go out bar hopping, as I am in my 30s with two young children. However, a few Fridays ago, my husband, a friend, and I ended up at this restaurant late in the evening. I really loved the modern and inviting decor of the place. It had just the right amount of darkness to create ambiance and appeal to everyone. I remember coming here once before, a long time ago, and being put off by the high prices of the cocktails. But this time, I decided to give it another chance and I'm glad I did. Although the drinks were on the expensive side, they were mostly worth it. The high prices may also keep away a certain crowd of young party-goers, which I am perfectly fine with at this stage of my life. I ordered a passionfruit cheesecake drink, which was beautifully crafted by the bartender and delicious, complete with a crumb bottom. It may not have been $17 worth of amazing, but I chose to focus on enjoying the evening rather than dwelling on the cost. My husband had a chilled amaretto, which he enjoyed. Our friend had the Winnie the Pooh cocktail and also had a great experience. This place on Victoria Street is definitely a good choice for a great atmosphere and drinks. It may be too pricey to be a regular spot for most people, but it's perfect for an occasional splurge on a night out.
This restaurant is very pretentious. I visited with my best friend before a concert, and when she ordered her drink, the bartender questioned if she was sure she wanted it because it was "pretty expensive" ($15). After she got flustered and asked for a cocktail recommendation, he replied, "not tonight, we're busy." As she pondered her choice, I ordered two fingers of bourbon, to which he again questioned, "are you sure?" When I confirmed, he poured a shot and once more asked if I "really wanted more." When I insisted, he commented that it was "pretty expensive, are you sure?" This bartender was offensive and arrogant, judging us solely on our appearance and insinuating that we couldn't afford standard drink prices. I will not be returning, and I believe this bartender should be let go for driving away paying customers.
