Shakespeare's Steak & Seafood

Made reservation. Told 2 hr maximum sitting. 2 hrs would have been a blessing, try in and out in 62 minutes. Never have I experienced such a rushed meal! Fine dining? No sorry. Don't think so. I told waiter didnt want my dinner out b4 finished appetizer. Meal came out. Before I tried my beverage waiter wanted dinner order. Never asked if we were celebrating anything, we were. WORST PART: OIL OR MARGARINE SUBSTITUTE AS BUTTER for lobster tail. Changed taste of food. Disappointing. Very disappointing. Bye bye Shakespeare's

Has sadly gone way down hill. Service was excellent but food was mediocre at best. Baked potato was the size of a tennis ball and came with packets of butter like a take out restaurant. The steak was acceptable but the fish was slightly overdone. Garlic bread was excellent. French Onion soup very salty. Cheese cake seemed off. Wine list included bottles that are $11 at the LCBO. Simply not the fine dining experience of the past. (Also unfinished drywall still up from an issue back in December) My heart hurts remembering Shakespeares in its glory days.

10/10: excellent old school service. Food was amazing. Oysters were fresh, seafood was grilled perfectly. Steak served mid rare as per ordered. A definite date night or special family occasion. Not cheap but worth every penny. Thanks for a special evening!

Too many steakhouses such as Hys over value not only their steaks but their service. This place is out of the 70’s in a good way. You will pay a little(very little) more than The Keg but get way better food. Our waiter tonight was Ben and he was the perfect blend of service (without being annoying) and friendliness. I would never have considered writing a review for a steakhouse but this one was worth the effort.

The elk was great seasoned and cooked perfectly. The lamb was meh. I make far better rack of lamb at home. The side dishes were unpalatable way too much garlic and it was not fresh. Very overcooked. The scallops over cooked and dry. Shrimp also over cooked and dry. We arrived starving so we ate everything reluctantly. M The meal took forever to arrive at the table. The atmosphere was drabby. I could never recommend this place. Very expensive for food that I would never serve to anyone in my home.
