We spent a lovely Törggelen time in this cosy Gasthaus. The view over Innsbruck is simply mind-blowing and one certainly feels this exceptional mountain ambience when having a dinner being seated high above the city in a wooden hut with a lot of great traditional food.We were welcome by the owner with an introduction story about origin of Törggelen and a lovely set table with welcoming messages inscribed on pine wood heart plates. It all created such a warm atmosphere right away as you feel certainly so special and awaited. The owner and other staff members were very chatty and attentive all evening long offering home produce (pine vodka, South Tirol wine) and taking also much care about a child of our friends (3-year old).I must admit food quality is high-level. I ordered a vegetarian Törggelen menu (it's not so common in Tirol to have a chance to choose one!) and it was all about pumpkin.First comes home-made bread with 3 spread types: 2 cheese (Liptauer and herb one) and this fatty Grammelschmalz with crispy Speck parts. Very fresh! Then, a pumpkin soup with roasted pumpkin seeds and pumpkin oil. Maybe I would expect it to be more of a creamy texture but it was still ok. I usually have it with apple or pear for sweetening the taste but it was really tasty in this version as well. The main course was the pumpkin risotto which had big slices of carrots, pumpkin and Parmesan in it. Was not too heavy (not too much cream which I really appreciated) and was seasoned with fresh rosemary. The dessert part started off with Kirchtagkrapfen (1 per person) - a kind of crispy doughnut (?) with a poppy filling. I have to say the taste surprised me very positively! It was not oily or too heavy (even though fried in deep oil) and closed the feast perfectly. Finally, a big basket of fried chestnuts, peanuts, tangerines and grapes was served on the table. Fruits were very refreshing and sweet. The only minus was I burnt my thumb when pilling off the chestnuts since they came directly from the pan!Overall, I appreciated the evening very much. Food was great, atmosphere - very lively and cosy and the welcoming - so perfect. It felt like celebrating with a family over a home-made dinner…I could only wish for shorter breaks in between the dishes - it took on average 45 minutes between one and another. The portions were not too big though and I did not felt too full after 5-dish menu.Price-wise it cost only 30€ for the food so great value for money!I recommend this place to all Törggelen fans! It really felt like a true Tirolean family time.
