Schmankerl Stube - Hagerstown

The portions are very very small and food not tasty. I ordered a pork schnitzel: the meat was hard and the size ridiculous not even a kid portion) . A tourist trap… not a German restaurant!

This establishment has been here for years and always on top of their game! Tried the combo for couples and highly recommend.

I come from Chicago where there are just a few decent German restaurants that remain. This place was better than anything I've experienced in Chicago (yep, even the one on Irving Park) in the last 20 years, and I can say that with confidence as I've been to Germany about 15 times and I am of German descent. The food is authentic Bavarian and meticulously prepared. You can tell that they have gone through great lengths to provide an authentic Southern Germany culinary experience. I will definitely be back.

We drove down from Gettysburg to eat here and it was worth the trip. The food was good (Sauerbraten and Weiner Schnitzel). The Spetzel was also very good. The staff was friendly and the service was very good (Thanx Liz). I would recommend this restaurant for anyone one who likes German food,

This place is sehr gut (very good)! Excellent, very fresh, very traditional food at good sized portions. Ask for Liz, she's a fantastic server! Best German food we've ever had.
