The restaurant was open early in the morning itself (around 8 am) when we were en route from Srinagar airport to Gulmarg. We had delicious aloo paratha and kashmiri dum aloo. The taste was very unique and tasty. Rate was reasonable too.

This is a fairly small Restaurant on the 1st floor of the Downhill Hotel at Tangmarg, which is just before your start your climb to Gulmarg. The Washrooms are on the Ground Floor they are not so clean, but you really don't have a...choice as it is very cold you have to use the restroom. The Restaurant is on the first floor has only a few tables. However, the menu is fairly large the waiters are helpful. They specialize in Kashmiri food, which is very good. We has a Kashmiri Tikka Masala with Rotis which was really excellent, even though a little bit spicy. The cold weather makes you hungry too you eat well here. The prices are also very reasonable it is a very nice place to stop for lunch before you start the climb to Gulmarg.

I visited this restaurant in 2002, while on the way to the gulmarg resort. I am so happy that they are still there, I have cleared out some old walking kit and found their visit card in one of my backpacks. I remember. that the hühnertikka is the best thing I ever tasted and the staff was also very friendly. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
