Runaway Island - Gulf Lagoon Beach

Not terrible but also not great. My boyfriend and I went in for lunch yesterday and immediately our waitress Daniela straight up looked like she didn't want to be there. Lacked in charisma and had a raging RBF. Not to mention our food was cold when it came out. I got the blackened redfish with mashed potatoes and my boyfriend got the teriyaki bowl. He said that the warmest part of his dish was the rice... overall I paid $100 after tip for overpriced Medicare food and bad service. The only good thing I can say was the view was spectacular and our cocktails is what saved our experience. Won't be returning.

My husband and I went here at lunch today around 1:20pm. We automatically got sat outside with our awesome server Katrina. To brag on her a bit, she got quadruple sat including us and was still so attentive to all of her tables needs! You would be lucky to get her! We ordered the Caribbean chicken bites which were sooooo good! We highly recommend them! They also have a separate menu available from 12-4pm “12 for $12” which is what we ordered from, the blacked redfish and the beer battered cod tacos were absolutely delicious! If you’re able to get there in time to order off of this menu ORDER THE BLACKENED RED FISH!!!! It is top 3 best things you’ll get in Panama aside from crab legs and oysters!! Best food, atmosphere, view, and customer service on the beach! Our absolute favorite! The Old Bay shrimp, Baja Rolls, Hawaiian Steak and Caribbean Chicken are amazing. You HAVE to try the Orange Dreamsicle frozen drink! If you haven’t tried Runaway Island, you are missing out on an absolute GEM!

From start (our wait time was only 16min vs. the 30min quoted) we enjoyed Oysters, pretzel bites and Baja rolls all of them came out quick and delicious...our entrees rocked to finish we had both the dream pie a brownie. Overall our experience was fantastic, our waitress Summer was very helpful and attentive! We'll be back!

Great view Wait was only 30 min. Good live music Summer was an amazing server with great suggestions...she's a BOSS! Full section and still made us feel like she had time for just us..and she's right about that Dream pie
