Antigo Nora Do Ze Da Curva - Guimarães

So the experience I had today, was the most weird I had in my life, I would say maybe even illegal. I went with my partner as my parents in law recommended the place, we been inside and the menu was small, only fish and meat plates, not complaining of the size of the menu there as we are get to use that in some restaurants. I order meat and my partner fish with a beer and a cola. The waiter arrived with ham, a small plate of ham and we thought maybe is some present as we DID NOT order that. After, he came with a plate of 4 croquettes of fish “as we couldn’t leave without try them”. After food came and it was good. My surprise came with the bill as he charge 7.50 for the plate of ham we DIDN’T ask and 3 for the croquettes as well, we DIDN’T ask for… if you go over there, try not to take anything he offer as he is going to charge you and not even as for it… the funny thing: those plates weren’t in the menu…

This restaurant was recommended by a food blogger and we were so happy that we went. We wanted traditional Portuguese food and this restaurant did not disappoint. This is a family owned restaurant with meat and seafood dishes. The owners made it an amazing experience with their hospitality and explaining the menu and wines. Carlos is one of the owners and he really made us feel at home. Fantastic food and wine. Enter the parking garage and go left to enter the restaurant. Our best meal in Portugal.

Located near the heart of Guimarães, the restaurant it’s a bit difficult to find, but it’s really worthwhile. The appetizers are really good, the Cabrito, the greens and the roasted potatoes are amazing. The portions are good and the price is reasonable. Also the service is very good and friendly. In sum it’s recommended.
