Le Pub Rochefort - Guéret

Afer waits 30 minutes without eating. the waitresses came several times without order. there were not so many people. our table neighbours had finished their aperitif and half their drink before they were served.

We had no time and were looking for cheap food. what a beautiful surprise: beautiful old stylish rooms fast service French local cuisine excellent menu of the day .... a reliable restaurant, not a tourist trap.

We tried this restaurant without any prior knowledge or looking at reviews. Subsequently, we would agree with most of the published comments in that the food is good but the service is a little slow. We chose the fish salad to start, it was fresh,...tasty and plentiful. The main course of veal was excellent and with plenty of sauce I don't mind it on the plate, contrary to some other reviewers. There was a good choice of desserts, home made and very tasty. Wine and coffee are not included but still at a reasonable price. The staff were very attentive and pleasant, one in particular practising his command of English! I don't want to have my meal served rapidly but the wait to order drinks and food was a trifle too long. The décor is traditional, if dark, chateau style with plenty of oak beams and wall hangings I would not, however, be put off visiting again..

My wife I came across this pub restaurant in a back street or Gueret by chance what a gem. After arriving at 1.45pm very close to closing time with little French we were fed looked after by attentive pleasant staff. On...the whole a very pleasant experience in nice surroundings at a fair price. They even looked after our Border collie, we would recommend this to anyone.

Jolie terasse intérieur, repas délicieux de l'apéritif au café. Je conseille le menu a 30€. Service impeccable.
