Campanile Gueret Restaurant

After a very long drive we were happy to find this restaurant directly opposite the Kyriad Hotel where we stayed for the night. The decor is pleasant if slightly angular as, and the staff friendly and obliged. The ethos serves itself and... as much as you want, with waiting staff that brings drinks from the bar and clearing tables. There was a warm buffet with three main dishes, a varied cold buffet and a dessert buffet at a reasonable price. This is essentially a dining place for hungry travelers and not the kind of place where you would take your girl for a special, romantic meal (unless you were very hard on! Although the food ingredients were obviously chosen with a view to the economy, they were well prepared and presented and the pig bell I had chosen was tasty when rather fat. Regarding domestic dishes, which the standard I would apply, gave this amount, good flavors and good value, and if that's all I was looking for, I would go back there.

For the crowd, this place is fine as it was buffet and you can choose different courses of the buffet (appearance/main for 15 euros, 3 course for 25 euros) but only a type of fish and a few pork dishes and local fondue with pumice...were as... All dishes had not usual deep French tastes... and rather some canteen food like taste. We decided to eat here as it was next to our hotel, but you could venture into nearby restaurants if you have a car. Overall it was OK for fast meal but I would not recommend if you were looking for a traditional French taste.

Restaurant (and hotel) very conveniently located on the outskirts of Gueret along with two others in the group (Kyriad and Premiere Classe). We stayed at Premiere Classe and used the 15% restaurant discount in Campanile. Most diners took an excellent 2 or 3...Gang buffet that was not expensive. The serving staff was particularly good (brown water for my dog without being asked). An additional advantage, as dogs are often not allowed in hotel restaurants.

Beaucoup trop chère pour une cafétéria.... frites à la graisse de coco (congelées) et entrecôte fine comme du papier à musique !

Formule buffet un peu chère à mon sens mais des produits de bonne qualité un buffet de desserts bien garni des serveurs sympathique
