Yesterday I was in this beautiful magical place, perfect Christmas weather with snow mixed in cold rain but inside the castle the warm atmosphere...

Extraordinary location and great food, excellent surrounding background, I would say that to recommend to all.

Immersed in the Umbrian hills. magical place in an uncontaminated context. staff available and qualified. delicious cuisine and unique services. just a few minutes from gubbio and surroundings.

Overall, we were a little disappointed. but first positive aspects: the building itself is in a great location and we rarely found staff so friendly and helpful. the operator may be lucky for this staff. we stayed for two nights. the room was very beautiful, unfortunately the view was completely blocked by a tree. You can't change it, it's a sin, but nature comes first. the generally accessible rooms are really beautiful, sometimes furnished a little in a awkward way. the breakfast room looks more like a train station than a castle. because you are hanging the grilled lights on the ceiling at a time instead of creating a harmonious atmosphere with indirect lighting that emphasizes the beautiful masonry. annoying: while I was in bed with a disease, I experienced that the bathroom was cleaned in just less than a minute. the breakfast was very modest (mortadella, ham, cheese) and unfortunately all of poor quality. I can't judge the cake because I don't eat it in the morning. However, when we asked for a different cheese, they brought us a plate of three really good sheep, the quality we got at the restaurant the night before. as I said: the staff is absolutely fantastic. I can't judge the restaurant because I couldn't eat because of a disease, but what we had was very good. It is also annoying to have to pay an extra for a sauna or wellness area in this price range. This is absolutely incomprehensible. I'm not talking about massages, etc. but standard of a wellness area. conclusion: nice location, super friendly staff and helpful but not good value for money. the website promises more than it keeps.
