Bidrage med feedbackOur little group of 5 would have been out of place in what is clearly a young people's bar. But we went for happy hour (between 6 and 8) and had a nice drink in a quaint street. The charming red-bearded owner attended us and was friendly and helpful. Very informal atmosphere and service, so let your U.S. expectations at the door and enjoy!
What more could you possibly want from a bar: salsa classes, beer pong, pictures of epic beards for inspiration! In a great location right off the main square. The owners were very welcoming and made sure we all had a great time.
Nice place, just re-opened this March with James and Charlotte at the counter. Nice place to just sit, drink and talk to the variety of 'foreigners ' and 'locals '. Enjoyed opening evening at a table with an Aussie, American, Colombian, New-Sealand, Polish guy, German with an occasional French, Belgium and English guy running around.. Nice!
Bar Baroja moved recently to a new location on the plazoleta. The new bar is much bigger than the old one. The owners created a place to feel comfortable and decorated it with a lot of lovely details. The mix out of locals and travelers is perfect. If you want to enjoy a cold beer or a good cocktail in guatape you should definitely visit bar baroja!
I lived in Guatape for 5 weeks whilst I was doing some volunteer work in the area. In this time I checked out pretty much every bar and discoteque in the entire town but there aren't any that are as good as this one. Chilled/relaxed atmosphere, great music (which isn't played unbelievably loud like most of the other bars), good mix of travellers and really friendly locals in the area. Boris has done a ridiculously good job in creating a perfect mix of chilled/relaxed and it's great for a party on weekends. Each day has a different theme also so if you're in the Guatape area and are wanting to go for a drink I couldn't recommend this bar more!
