Pattys Tacos - Gualala

Patty's Tacos is no más! Another restaurant has bit the dust in Gualala. Closed in July 2019.

Hell yeah! Five stars all the way. It's a hole in the wall place and out of the way simple and unassuming, but don't let that deter you. Not only does the Mexican cooking go above and beyond common fare, and is just dang delicious it's inexpensive (and on this part of the coast that's a godsend ! Front of house service with Patty Jr. is lovely and friendly too. I can even eat outside with my puppy which is a nice plus. If you ever see a special up on the chalk board, get it! It may possibly knock your socks off. I ordered the Tacos Al Carbon that was featured on one visit and and my socks are nowhere to be found. I've eaten tacos all over San Francisco, in LA, in Baja and Mexico, in San Diego, in my own and my friends' kitchens; even in Europe; and Patty's Al Carbon layered with all kinds of salsas and condiment surprises was a lovely taste flavor surprise. ¡Que sabroso! To say the least. Tied for my favorite taco of all time. (With an amazing breakfast taco near Huntington Beach . They will be opening a larger restaurant soon and yay for that! as there are few truly good restaurants in town. And in case you wondered, I almost always have a simple lunch of one crispy taco and one soft: carnitas and Carne Asada and both are yummy and a very good deal too. I've also gotten the shrimp taco special which was fresh and tasty and again layered with lots of yumminess on a crispy tortilla (not a tortilla shell mind you a proper fried tortilla . But I promise To branch out and try some of the interesting sounding items on the wall menu. The photos are not great though, so maybe descriptions would be better ; Thanks Patty and family!

Meat overcooked, even when asked that they don't do that. Burritos don't have cheese or beans. No pico de gallo even when asked for. Won't go back. We expressed these concerns directly to one of the owners to be fair before posting something publically. Least you think it was only one visit--we've been there three times. Three strikes, they're out.

Fantastic food.. everything was great Starting with the chips and salsa! I had the carnitas plate and my wife had the cheese enchiladas, both where great. The rice and beans are as good as it gets.everything was as good as it gets. Definitely going to be a place to look forward to next time I'm in the area
