Marmorbruch - Grindelwald

Simply excellent! beautiful view, super friendly service and delicious homemade food! we were looking for a place for a late lunch and found him! we will be back in grindelwald next time!

The owner was very friendly and we enjoyed our visit. We'll go back for a meal next time. The hotel has basic rooms and looked very clean.

Sunday afternoon in the restaurant marmorbruch is obvious for the locals too afternoon with friends and related, and not for hikers who fall in for a bowl suppe! my wife and I felt really unwilling and have our little expensive bowl of mushroom soup. and dried brot not cost.

We actually stopped here because we need a bathroom. it was about 11 o'clock, and we ordered a cappuccino and a piece of cake, so they won't get worse with us. the place was empty (off season and not yet midday and appeared. to run from a few in their sixties that made some paperwork when we entered. the lady waited for us immediately while the man went up and we did not see him again. I saw the dame make the cappuccino (it was at least 6-8 oz and then served me a piece of what turned out to be a heavenly jam with a thick crust. (lincertort) both the cappuccino and the cake came to 13 Swiss francs (not bad for a resort area in Switzerland and were quite good. the restaurant is cozy, dressed in bright wood, has exposed beams over the deck and has various folk art articles in it. it could have had about 20 customers if the German word, is full. (the one that was encircled by the lady spoke at least enough English to thank us very much.

Restaurant marmorbruch is a very special place for many reasons. it is located in a clearing just a few minutes' drive from the village grindelwald, with magnificent views of the valley below. we have often been there and have always been warmly welcomed. from the owners, anita and wali (she offers service and he cooks). there is always a lively talk and eating is delicious. our favorites are Chessefondue and pork with fries. the salads are generous and fresh. we try to save space for dessert, and if we are not too full, we share a large slice of heavenly lincers prepared by anitas mother.
