Bidrage med feedbackIt is a full vegetarian place run by a family. It is no frills with minimum service. Food is very basic and is prepared with minimum oil and unwanted mixes. Their thali is also a decent option. Taste and preparation matches 1980 or 1990 of India. I have been here about 10 times, I believe the place needs to do some more maintenance and improve the service..
Everything is fabulous! I say to the owners, I am vegan and they make sure that everything I order is vegan or modified. I love their daily plates that are like sampler plates. they all have a small load.
What is there to say? The food is out of this world: I have yet to have anything here I don't love. The people are very friendly and accommodating, and it's all vegetarian and mostly vegan. Hands down my favorite spot in Greenville.
*Update at bottom* We were in the area for my husbands work and saw the good reviews on happy cow and decided to check it out. It is a bit of a hole in the wall, but the food is absolutely delicious. We ordered the samosas and some other appetizer recommended, the garlic naan vegan and I had Channa masala (my go to dish at any Indian restaurant and he ordered the kofta. Everything was SO good. I’ve never had garlic naan before because typically it’s not vegan, but I told the owner I was vegan and he said he would make sure everything we got was vegan. Everyone was very friendly and the service was great. The owner even tried to make my fussy toddler happy. Wish we lived in Greenville because I’d be back all the time. If we’re ever in the area again we will definitely make sure to eat there. The best Indian restaurant I’ve ever been to. Two years later October 2021 we came back to the area again and were excited to eat here again. Unfortunately our experience was not as good. We ordered all the same food and the food was not very good this time. Channa masala was watery, the aloo tiki appetizer was ok but cold (not sure if this is how it’s supposed to be? , the garlic nan was a tiny portion and it was microwaved and chewy. The kofta was ok but not great. The samosas were great but that was the only good thing we had. We ended up ordering our kids the veggie burger because the other food was too spicy. The burger was a bit spicy too and it was more like a pancake than a burger. We were also told that the fries couldn’t be made because they would take too long. It’s unfortunate because it was so good in 2019, but not so this time. The older man that is the owner was also not very friendly and quite grumpy. Maybe it was an off day or maybe it has gone down hill. Updated from previous review on 2019-10-24
This place is extremely good, hole in the wall, with delicious food. The staff is always great when I go. They don’t serve any meat here so everything is either vegan or vegetarian which is amazing.
