Bidrage med feedbackWe frequently go to Dandenong RSL on Wednesdays because their two-for-one meal deal makes it a budget-friendly night out. They are currently offering RSL membership for $10, a savings of $15 from the usual price. The food at Oskar's is delicious with a variety of options to choose from.
Took my family for dinner on Saturday night. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. The food was lovely, only reason it got 4 and not 5 out of 5 was that the meals didn't all come out together. The band was playing which was a bit of fun for the girls and I to have a dance!!
Mid September and dinner for two at Oskar's Bistro & Bar turned out to be a delightful evening. As an RSL club we needed to sign in and after a couple of unsuccessful tries trying to sign in, finally gained admittance, put it down to slow technology. We quickly found our way to the bistro and shown to our seats, noticing on the way a long queue of people waiting to place their meal orders. We found that Wednesday is "two for one Night" and this was Wednesday, so far so good.A reasonable selection from the two for one menu, however one can order A La Carte if you wish.We chose from the two for one and joined the queue, which by now was longer than ever, but it moved quickly and perhaps just 10 minutes in line.Orders placed, bread rolls dished out and a total cost of under $20.00.We expected quite a wait for our food, after all the Bistro had filled considerably since we entered and sat back and watched the passing parade of people coming and going.2 Drinks from the bar cost $6.00 and much to our surprise our food arrived within 10 minutes. Both dishes were hot and tasty and could not be faulted. Have paid heaps more and received far less appetising meals in recent weeks from other eateries, at double the price. Will be back to try other special nights over the coming months.Well worth a try and recommended.
I decided to give this restaurant a try after going to the movies. Unfortunately, we were not greeted warmly when we entered. The man at the front seemed disinterested and directed us to the bistro after signing in. You have to order at the counter and then they bring the food to your table. I found the prices to be a bit on the higher side. I ordered the panko crusted barramundi and prawns. The barramundi did not taste like what I am used to; it had a very strong fishy flavor. The salad dressing was good, but the salad itself only had leaves and a few slices of cucumber with no tomatoes. However, the staff at the restaurant and bar were very friendly.
This restaurant has become our favorite spot to go every Thursday night. The value of the food is exceptional and the service is typically quick and efficient. The atmosphere is friendly and tranquil. If any issues arise, they are easily approachable. It's not just a place that honors "returned soldiers," but also a place worth revisiting for a pleasant evening out with friends. It offers great value for seniors as well.
