Bidrage med feedbackThirty Clam is my favorite spot for delicious seafood at unbeatable prices. The staff is extremely friendly and the bartenders are very attentive. The owner is always around, which adds a personal touch to the experience. Guests are welcomed with a taste of the House Jersey Boy Chowder, which is simply outstanding. You can also purchase fresh seafood to take away from a display case. The restaurant offers a variety of entertainment options including an Elvis impersonator, karaoke, and live band music on certain days. Where else can you find a Swiss, spinach, and crab omelet during the week? One thing I really appreciate is that I can order crabs and other seafood items individually, rather than being required to buy a dozen. Just make sure you go to the building in the back that is NOT labeled as Thirty Clam.
The food was tasty. We decided to try their oyster special on Monday and Tuesday. Unfortunately, the service was below average and they offer wine cocktails. The wait time for food seems unpredictable and service is not swift. It was noticeable that the owners spend their time drinking at the bar. While the oysters were enjoyable, the restaurant itself was not very clean. It appears to attract regulars who spend a lot of time drinking. Our first experience at oyster night was not pleasant as we were laughed at for not having a reservation and the bartenders were rude. We likely won't be returning.
This rustic seafood restaurant features an excellent seafood and raw bar. The menu includes raw, broiled, and baked dishes, but no roasted options. The Rohausters from Appalachicola were delicious and satisfying. The large cooked shrimp is served either chilled or hot, while the Kingfish can be enjoyed bruised or smoked - my personal favorite was the boiled preparation. If you are seeking a sophisticated culinary experience, this may not be the ideal restaurant for you. However, if you are craving delicious seafood that is not fried, this could be the perfect spot for you. During our visit, we noticed many locals as well as a few snowbirds dining here. Overall, this was the best raw bar we tried in 2017.
The complex is very rustic with a local clientele. The Rohausters and the steamed shrimps were excellent. The soft bowl crab sandwich, which was a special not so delicious. We would come back for the oysters and shrimps, but do not order the soft shell.
Shrimp appetizer was a disappointment. Pizza was soggy. Truffle fries were excellent. Service was great. Food was not. My husband and I enjoyed happy hour and brunch and I was excited to bring my daughter here for dinner. It was okay but lots of room for improvement.
