Bidrage med feedbackI was on the 22nd april in the jw marriott. check in about 4 clocks on afternoon. the room was wonderful, bed very comfortable pleasant heating cool system, excellent bathroom, shower fantastic. the next morning I had breakfast in the hotel restaurant, which was nice; did not check out until 2:30 in the afternoon hotel was the most accommodating. valet parking excellent. a great place loved the hotel. I'm back.
I have the Marriott gold status but it didn’t seem like it did anything for me for this property. Checked in around 9PM. I asked for an upgrade, and although I verified better rooms available on the website before I walked in, the front desk tells me there was nothing available to upgrade. I showed him my phone and the plenty of rooms available on that Tuesday night, and he looked like I caught him in the lie. Then he said he can only put me on a higher floor. What a gyp. Room with lounge access and there was no food or even breakfast. Walked out with maybe a few cans of ginger ale during my stay. Total waste of money. At least they gave me late gold status check out at 2pm, but no advantage because we had to leave upon regular time check out. No extra points or welcome gift upon check in! These are things that they advertise! I think the room was comfortable but c’mon what is the point of having status with Bonvoy if you can’t even use it! Disappointing.
We came here for a James Taylor and Jackson Browne concert. Met good friends from TX and us from Nola. Staff has great in every interaction. We had access to the concierge lounge which really was phenomenal. Cocktails and apps each night. Maggie and Victoria were great hosts. Food is free and you pay for drinks but the prices are reasonable. Hotel is centrally located and an easy walk to many local establishments. This town was so friendly and the JW was the best spot for home base.
I work at this hotel and thought I would treat me and my spouse to a nice stay at the hotel I worked at since she just received a promotion at work and there is a big Halloween party at the hotel.? We like Halloween more than all the other holidays combined When we pulled in I informed the valet we were celebrating my wife's promotion. We received a hearty congrats from the valet and on we went our way. ?Strike one- employees are trained to bestow extras onto guests at every possible opportunity it's called the 1% philosophy, this is supposed to be a five star hotel after all. We then checked in made our way to our room. Upon entering my spouse noticed the tv was not working. We called at your service they said somebody would be up shortly. After an hour we called again, an apology and then the guy showed up. He was unable to fix the TV and stated he would return with a new cable box. ?We ordered food from room service, it was decent not great 100bux for a couple of burgers from what I remember. We then headed out for about 4hours. When we returned the television was still non-functional. We ended up having to move rooms at 1:30am.? No comps, no apologies. No usb ports in rooms. Ice machine wasn't working on our floor, no sign stating as much. Ordered room service for breakfast, another 100bux and I would rather have eaten at McDonalds. ?No hot tub, no sauna, no spa. I was excited to show off the 5star hotel experience to my spouse and now she never wants to stay there again. ?Even informed the assistant executive director of the hotel of our experience and zero comps were offered. This review will stay up until my spouse is willing to stay at the hotel. I'm very disappointed with my employer, I've worked in hospitality on and off for 26 years and have never had this kind of treatment from any establishment I have stayed at.? I spent over 1000 dollars at the hotel in one night and have been treated better at motel 6. On a positive note the Halloween party was a good time.? Edit- I guess it is against company policy to leave less than favorable reviews if you use your employee discount at the hotel and receive poor service as was explained to me by executive management team members today including HR. I would like to formally apologize for being honest about my experience at the hotel. ?We in fact had a really special night and look forward to pouring more money into my employers pockets in the future. ?Thank you for the amazing experience JW Marriott. ?And thank you for allowing me to see the benefits of moving hotel rooms in the middle of the night.? The food is also better than McDonalds. Love, light and blessings upon your being?
Probably the nicest Marriott property I have stayed at. Located on the river in downtown Grand Rapids. Room views of the river or the downtown. Security card access to get to rooms. Friendly front desk staff. Good food options in or near hotel. Restrooms too far away from meeting rooms.
