Golden Gate - Grand Rapids

Always stay our favorite place... small, friendly staff, old world charm, in walking distance from many restaurants and most of the city's venues. The rooms at the back and at the side of the hotel are quiet, although they are directly in the city centre. The parking lot above the street is a great help. Love it! I love this hotel. The bird train, the whimsical paintings on the walls, pip the cat, the croissants, the bathtubs, the location, the service. It is all so comfort and a homely place to retreat from the city.

My wife and I are here for the first time yesterday and we were very happy customers! First, after we ordered our food and ate our soup and egg rolls, the waitress told us if we wanted to wait 15 minutes, the buffet would only be available for $1 more than our entrees. Secondly, the buffet did not taste like typical Chinese buffet. Everything was very tasteful and delicious with a good range of products like Snow Crab! Thirdly, they are the first Chinese restaurant in Grand Rapids that we were able to find Almond Boneless Chicken. It was delicious with a slightly crispy bread, and very good engraving. Fourth, they literally make the best egg roll I've ever eaten!! We will definitely drive Sand Lake many times for some of the best Chinese food in Grand Rapids!! Very recommended!!
