Friesian Gastro Pub - Grand Rapids

Excellent food and drinks, but the service is much to wish. Reservation was for “covered outdoors” which was a cool, badly heated terrace; asked for an indoor table, but said no one available even though there were only 3 other occupied tables at the time (530p). Ends at the bar instead of frustrating to watch, stand still and chat... I would have expected them to cough if they were so “busy” that they could not accommodate us on the open 2 dozen tables. Even bartenders not very attentive. Unfortunately, the experience will probably keep us from returning because the food was excellent.

Loud, a little rough music for a Valentine's meal. Read the room! It's more bar than restaurant. Otherwise delicious food good service. Parking can be a challenge.

We love Friesian’s menu and cocktails. Their happy hour is a great way to beat the crowd or an early start for a show at DeVos. Their room can get loud with music, cocktails stirring and an the ever-present high-pitched or cigar-club-wanna-be-loud talker. Something you will find anywhere. The decor is great and service fantástica (Madison, our server, was knowledgeable, attentive and frequently checked on us. Love it.

Not a good value. Way too expensive for the quantity and quality of the food. How can people afford to eat out anymore?
