Fish Lads - Grand Rapids

My friend and ate for the first time here enjoyed a wonderful lunch of fish and chips. And it was a pleasure having Liam serve and wait on us--very nice experience.

Whole Foods was sold out of Branzino but I found it in stock at Fish Lads. I was waiting at the counter for few minutes before staff came from the back. The guy then went to talk to another member of staff while I?m still waiting. While he was walkingback over, he saw another customer waiting and asked them if they needed help. I had to say, ?Excuse me sir, I?ve been waitinghere.? He immediately came to help then but had a cold/nonchalant presentation. You would think that for the price you pay perpound on seafood here that they would at least have courteous workers. The guy never even said have a good day. Bad business.

Unfortunately felt compelled to finally give this establishment a poor rating. If negative stars could be given, they would be. First and foremost, the service at the counter is underwhelming at best. A collegiate mascot would have a difficult timebeing noticed. Most importantly, the seafood is hardly ?fresh? or ?quality?. The stench from the product sold at this market isunbearable, the selection rarely rotates and the price for quality has to be a 300% markup. Please, if reading, stray far away.Yuck.

Food taste OK, but I think I got food poisoning after eating there. That evening I was in bed and stayed in bed or in the bathroom all the next day. That was awful, and I never have issues with my stomach. I ordered the grilled fish and they didnot have the side of bacon hash but it was still listed on the board. They also did not provide ANY alternate or discount. Theservice was terrible to say the least. Very rude lady that works there. I will never go back there.

The actual quality of fish was great. Had to wait for several minutes to even get someone to take our order despite it not being super busy but other than that, no complaints.
