Bidrage med feedbackWe went their yesterday with my 11 year old son and 7 of his buddies.....a handful for anyone. We were served promptly by a young lady who was friendly and patient. The food and drinks came quick and was fantastic! large portions as well, nobody was able to eat it all. I come to Grand Bend every summer and this was my first time at the Sandbar. I will be back for sure.
As a recently opened restaurant, (formerly JD's) this freshly painted and updated 'bar and grill' has everything going for it! Delightful atmosphere, delicious food and attentive servers....a perfect combination for a wonderful dinner and evening. There are three areas in which to sit....outside at the bar or at one of the three high-top tables, inside at tables or in booths or (our choice) outside at the back patio under the shade of a majestic ancient tree! Each of the three of us dining out that evening chose something different, and we were not disappointed. Everything was excellent! While waiting for our meals we enjoyed a cocktail or two....all presented promptly even though they were extremely busy. I chose the Caprese Flatbread Piizza with fresh Bocconcini cheese, tomatoes, basil and a drizzle of balsamic....delicious! Hubby decided to have the Marooned Burger, a suggestion from our server. She was right as it was outstanding both in flavour and presentation. It was made of lean organic beef topped with Monterey Jack cheese, BBQ sauce, crispy onion straws and jalapenos. Our guest had the Sandbar Wrap full of delicious grilled chicken, pico di gallo, lettuce, three cheeses and a southwest ranch sauce. I would definitely recommend that you try this delightful restaurant.
We visited the Sandbar several times during our week stay in Gran Bend. We had a variety of different things off the menu including steak flat bread (medium rare), seared tuna, and coconut shrimp, which were all excellent choices. The atmosphere, food and staff were amazing. I have recommended the Sandbar to all of my friends and family visiting Grand Bend. An overall 10 out 10 for customer experience.
Stopped in with friends for the first time to the Sand Bar since it changed from JD's.The place looks clean and the new paint and decor is nice. The floor out back is now 50% sand which looks kind of neat and it's more of a nautical/beach theme. The wait Staff are fun and nice. We had "Rachel" who did a great job and was probably the best part of the whole experience. The food is good. It's well done and presents nicely. I had the Reuben and their home made potato slices which was recommended. I'd get them again as they are more potato chips and they were well done.A little pricey but not overboard. A dollar or two more than I would have expected per dish but nothing huge in terms putting them above other places on the strip in price.Overall, a good visit and I'd go again. The "deck" out back is good for groups as well.
14 of us were seated right away and had great meals. It is a little pricey - $10 for a caesar drink but the food and drinks were tasty. No need for sand on the floor as you get enough sand at the beach
