Food was great! Everything was just as ordered. They even have sweet potato fries now. Fried Jalapeños were excellent and bountiful. Burgers came with all the vegetables including PICKLES! Service was far above par and the waitress was rewarded justly for her efforts. Will come again SOON!
Our waitress was great. Friendly and conscientious! But there must be a beef shortage in Granbury. My hamburger reminded me of the meat we used to eat in school cafeterias in the 70s. All the same color, all the same bland taste.
The Fillin' Station has a large covered dog friendly patio...which is how we ended up there on a recent vacation with a stormy night. It is very conveniently located on a corner on the main square. Lots of delicious sandwiches to choose from, and the waitress brought water for our pups (as well as the humans)!
I live in Granbury, although I seldom eat downtown. Today was my second, maybe third visit to The Fillin ' Station and I believe will be my last. There were Memorial Day events downtown so I can cut some slack in that most places if not all were full; However... It took a while to get a table, the Hostess was seemingly busy either seating guests or cleaning tables, but took a while to get to us. Once seated it took what seemed like at least 15 minutes for a server to come to our table to take our order and then bring our drinks. We ordered our drinks and a starter plate and the drinks came and the plate seemed to take like 30 minutes. We ordered boneless chicken wings and they came with French fries. I could swear the wings were some frozen Dyson wings from the supermarket. Not impressed in any way, shape or form. Then the wait begins for our food... we waited and waited for what seemed to be another 1/2 an hour. When the food was FINALLY served, again, I was not impressed. My plate in particular was luke warm at best, and the item they call onion rings appeared more like onion flakes and was not only something I did not eat but was completely cold. The cheese on my burger had been melted and then let to get cold, meaning it had sat in the kitchen for quite a while. In summary, my experience was the service was poor and slow, the food was not good, and the price was excessively high. After having lived in Granbury for three years I have learned that, with the exception of Stumpy 's most places in town or on the river or lake are over priced and don 't have good food. I like to support local businesses over chain restaurants (although those too are by and large franchises and local), but this is maybe the third restaurant in Granbury that I will not be returning to.
