Daphnes - Governors Bay

We haven’t been to Daphne’s since we moved back to chch and have been looking for a great Sichuan place to try. Daphne’s was great we could have had it a bit spicier but the flavour was just as we like it! Will definitely be back.

My husband always go here. Great price and great food. I like their manager, she came twice to service us. I didn’t expect that in a Chinese restaurant.

I 've been meaning to leave a review for awhile now.. Daphne 's is a great place to try something a little different than the ol ' run of the mill Chinese food (Try the 'hot and spicy chicken salad ' and the shredded pork pancakes. YUM!!!

This Chinese restaurant used to be our go to for Yum Cha, but it's not as good as it used to be, I think they increased the use of MSG as our mouths got quite dry afterwards the last few times we had Yum Cha here. Their dinner meals are still decent though. The lady owner whom I assume is Daphne is very friendly.

Daphnes is the Chinese restaurant I always imagined. It extremely great value and busy atmosphere catered to everyone looking for a cheap, mostly healthy and great service. Considering how busy it is there the service is very good, always helpful and caters to my allergies. I've been there twice and had 1 takeaway which I ordered one of my favourites go to meals in CHCH, the delicious Chicken in a hot pot. The meat is always tender the veggies are always fresh, the presentation is average but is always served steaming hot. Daphnes is an ideal place for large gets to gathers for great Chinese food.
