Historic Warming Hut At Skibowl

Great atmosphere, great place to meet new friends and have a good relaxing break with a good selection of beer and food. I deducted a star because the girl working there provided me with one of the lowest customer service experiences I have seen. I didn't notice that a window pane was out, making for a walk-up ordering service, I was asking out loud to my friend how we ordered, we were not sure. She literally was staring at us, looking like we were inconveniencing her by wondering how to order something, never even said hello or anything. I was asked if I wanted butter on my bread and I said yes please. There was no butter in sight upon receiving my food. She had set the tray in the window sill, I wasn't sure if it was ready at all because she kept adding stuff to the tray. Then she just left the window, I didn't know if she was getting anything else (like the butter I did not get) but nope, she just walked away after the tray was completed. I had to ask if it was ready as I was confused she had turned away for such a couple minutes. She was everything shy of being verbally rude to me. One of the worst customer service experiences I have had honestly and I had been in customer facing customer service environments for a decade! A shame to see being she works at such a cool location. Sad. I still tipped, which I shouldn't have. I hope her night got better.

This place is spectacularly atmospheric. It is such a fun place to settle And after a day of skiing. There's a big fireplace. The food is like comfort food, and is basically convenience fare. I think it is post to be German or something. It does have a fun beer selection. I am big into settings and atmosphere, so this bumps my review up. Food is fine, but I would absolutely spend a lot more time here and come back!

This place is not only historic but a staple for the experience. Skibowl may be small and icy at night but this hut makes it all better. They have a wide range of drinks available, a warm fire always going, and some food options but not many. It's in the middle of the slopes and convenient for a cider or beer and a warm up. There is usually a hut cat around, sometimes in the loft of storage or near the fire. It can definitely between squishy for space but worth the break and stop in.

They serve up a very fine Otto's sausage! Great selection of wine and beer too! Cozy fireplace and you get a visit by the resident cat Coaly.
