The Cod Mother's - Gore Bay

A late lunch. no one around us so we found one table and waited for the server to see us. we wanted fish and chips, but there was no one on the menu. We later discovered that we only have 1 page of the...Ist menu! we just ordered a pizza. After 50 minutes it finally arrived and it was the worst pizza we ever had. the service was bad. another customer came in and the server saw her and ignored her totally. when we were gone, we couldn't find the server. we finally figured out how much our bill was and left the money on the counter.

CodMother's is a nice little restaurant in Gore Bay, with a good deck for outside eating. It was busy when we were there, but we weren't in a hurry. The waitress seemed a little on edge possibly stress trying to get patrons to sign...the contact tracing sheet. The food was OK. We had fish tacos and the hamburger. I've eaten a lot of fish tacos in my time, and feel these could be greatly improved with 1) fresher and smaller tortilla shells 2) more spice on the cod pieces 3) the addition of some pico di gallo (onions and tomatoes) 4) fresh lime to squeeze on the taco.

Enjoyed two meals here and both a culinary experience enhance bu the joviality of the owner. Nothing will phase her with her Irish accent.

The fresh fish was perfectly battered and fried, loads of fries, an extra coleslaw and tartar sauce. Our server was so welcoming and ensured we were enjoying our meal. Highly recommend and we are definitely coming back!!
