Bidrage med feedbackShopping for pool chemicals we missed the shop at 12 o'clock! not yet open until 2 o'clock! we drove around and discovered Léon’s on the hill. the personal was very friendly, you even tried his English on us. the menu was not over complicated...with a great value menu de jour €12.50 buffet starter, anyway we had fish and chips, excellent cooked, and for dessert I had caffe parisian, oh had a breaking brûlée both excellent. we will definitely go back, a very good lunch venue.
Chosen by chance because it is close to the rocade when we pass on the way to our perigordic hebe, but so well we have time to go the lunch two weeks later after home. after the females in the car find suitable place censual and during French. Restaurants are above all dog friendly the ability to have them outside the chaos of a large fruity German dog helps to get to other diner’s plates. large selection of moule and we tried both traditional and gratinée. the latter was a manifestation. her moules a l’escargot did not participate in a single crawling moul, but moule grilled in a lot of brilliant garlic butter in a solitary dish. in the past I only eaten escargot for the butter and now discover a great alternative! how can they go wrong with a waffel. crisp service, but the personal could not understand why two dogs were the largest part of the way across France was not compatible with a lot of Belgian beer and were bitterly disappointed by my choice of badoit. we would not just go back, but already. simple, but varied excellent eating with crispy service and very affordable trips. dogs welcome.
What a great place terrific staff for a start, extensive menu and freshly cooked food can't wait to return, outside is good with views over the town, have been there three times so far and every meal was great.
I have fancied eating here since I first saw it was open but my wife is not a fan of mussels which is the restaurant's speciality. We went here on Sunday evening with our son and daughter in law and their three young children. We were greeted...and seated promptly and our order was taken within ten minutes of arrival. There is a secure play area for children which kept them occupied whilst not eating and they were each given games and a balloon. On Sunday evenings, there are inclusive menus of unlimited mussels with a selection of at least half a dozen different sauces and chips finished off with a selection of desserts. For my wife there was a fair selection of non seafood choices of which she chose chicken and a goats' cheese salad. My son, daughter in law and I had three generous helpings of mussels each, trying three different sauces, all of which were good but our unanimous favourite was the Roquefort cheese delicious! The childrens' menu is simple but well prepared. The food and drink prices were reasonable, particularly given the quantity of mussels available. We sat in the outside area which was cool and afforded a panoramic view of the city of Angouleme. All together an enjoyable experience and one we shall repeat. As a bonus, if you register on line with the restaurant, there are monthly special offers we had the benefit of a 20% discount on the whole bill which was gratefully accepted!
Four of us went on a Wednesday evening and although we enjoyed the meal we found the restaurant practically empty so missing in the atmosphere. we were several times and felt that it was not as good as normal. the normal choice of my man. in mushrooms and lardons in comparison to usual. also those who were there for a long time and were very friendly were gone. the two young girls were good, but it was lacking the normal joviality. I don't know if that was because it was a Wednesday and normally quiet. we will go again, but hope they won't let the dinge push.
