Leeville - Golden Meadow

Leeville Seafood is the nearest restaurant outside of the toll road entrance that I would actually consider a decent sit down restaurant. Its the only alternative place to eat if you work at the slips and is tired of eating at Moran's Marina, Kajun Buffet, and Hunts Brothers Pizza. Pricing can start at around $10 a plate and can easily extend up to the $20 and near $30 range. My grilled grouper with shrimp etoufee was about $22. See picture for plate. The grilled grouper was good and cooked right. Portion size didn't satisfy me but I eat a lot. The etoufee was also good and the shrimp was fresh. If I had the option to choose again though, I would opt for something deep fried because it seemed like bigger portions (probably because the french fries and more satisfying (probably because it's not as healthy! . The orders come standard with a small plate of salad but don't expect much. The veggies on ours were very brown on the edges and had a flimsy texture. The wait time for the food was a bit excessive, but with good company it didn't really matter.

Visited for a late lunch the day before the China virus stopped people from sitting in a restaurant. The corn and shrimp chowder was great. Just the right amount of spice and chunks of seafood and corn in every spoonful. Couldn't decide if I wanted the fried oyster or fried shrimp. Lady let me mix it, 50-50. Got at least a half dozen plump oysters and a have dozen butterflied shrimp. Thin breading allowed the seafood flavors to come out. It came with a hearty portion of fresh cut fries. Great service and food.

Yes, they do a good job here... I had a cup of the gumbo and the fish sandwich and it was very good. Also, the onion rings were very good too... which is a good sign, onion rings were crispy, not overly greasy... the way you'd want them to be. Would stop there again.

Have not been since the new bridge. Still just as good. Enjoyed a seafood platter. Shared with my guest and we were both over stuffed. Looking forward to a return trip next time I am in the area. Pleasant staff. Clean and pleasantly decorated. So sad the new bridge has resulted in the decrease in business. I sure hope they find a way to rebound.

Never disappoints! Delicious food! Amazing burgers and onion rings at a great price. And everything else I've had there has been delicious!
