Gasthof Zur Post - Gößweinstein

So we visited this place with friends for lunch it was really good and service was very good. The reason I don't give 5 stars is because this city is very touristy, and some people can speak German, but at least the menu...is English could be a very positive option.

Although the (actually surprisingly small) place was almost packed when we came in, the owner did not turn us away, but arranged the seats. And everything with a little humor. The dishes we're good, not perfect, but good. And what I really liked was the salads and the extra decorations on the plates. Sure, these are mainly optical things, but they still give an additional feeling of quality. Definitely worth checking, but a reservation is recommended. Like the Kotlett .

The Hecht-Perch Zander was perfect, also the Roulade; only the sauce of the latter tasted a bit like an instant powder. The dessert “Mandelschnitte” was fabulous. Friendly attentive service, excellent value.

I recently used the restaurant whilst staying in the area with my two sons. Food was OK and quite cheap, be prepared to await as it can get busy, one member of staff was particularly rude, so I wouldn't choose to go back again.It strikes me that many of the local restaurants work to a different set of rule compared to those in the city.....service with a smile is an alien concept, and they generally make you feed like they are doing you a favour by serving you at all

Lovely restaurant with great outdoor seating. I suggest a reservation if the weather keeps you indoors. The dining room is rather small. The food is excellent and fresh ingredients. Traditional. Great sausages. Staff is very friendly and the restaurant is very clean.
