Bidrage med feedbackIt took me a while to write this review because I really wanted to give a good rating, since the ambience and service were both so lovely. However the food simply was not. While the crab cakes were delicious, they were absolutely tiny barely a mouthful, and each sat on a few measly leaves of spring mix. For $7.5 apiece I would appreciate even a little bit more salad, or something, but this is a recurring trend at this restaurant. For my main, I got the maple pork tenderloin which came with a delicious sauce. The pork was a little overcooked and chewy, but that wasn't the biggest issue. Once again, the portion was almost laughable. I could eat three plates of this and another entree myself, and have room for dessert. The saving grace was the sweet potatoes, which were delightfully caramelized and roasted to absolute perfection. The other entree was fish of the day, which turned out to be salmon on that particular evening. It was unfortunately very bland, along with the rice pilaf. Nothing to say except utter mediocrity. Got some creme brulee for dessert, which I have no complains about. It was delicious. Also forgot to mention, the free bread at the start was also fantastic, but there were only two half slices of it (you can get refills for 75¢ I believe, which I made the mistake of not doing). I really wanted to leave a glowing review for this place, but simply cannot for a meal that cost $150, I went home still hungry and had to pick up snacks for later. And I'm a fairly small person (5'4, 120lbs), so I can only imagine dining here as an individual with bigger stature. It is a shame though, because the vibe and the wait staff were some of the nicest I've encountered.
This is the best restaurant in Huron County. Very friendly service and the food is excellent. If you are in Goderich and want a great restaurant, this is the place to go.
All the food was amazing and locally sourced. The home made onion sage bread starter (free) was possibly the best bread I'm ever tasted and warm from the oven. My rolled soufflé was delicious as was my partner's grilled salmon. My soufflé came with the soup of the day which was a cream of curried cauliflower. Soufflé was awesome and not something I have very often. The ambiance is very elegant in an old Victorian home and the hosts are very welcoming. Great experience!
Best fine dining restaurant in Goderich! Food is locally sourced, and consistently excellent. Owners are extremely nice! Staff as well. Menu has something for everyone including Gluten Free Options.
Just about the loveliest people I ever did meet! Only fine dining in Goderich, but it is nicely if simply done in a century home. Menu for lunch selections are fairly limited, but delicious. We had the crab cakes which came with sweet potato fries and Caesar salad. Crab cakes were crabby (not too much filler) but teensy. Serving size was fine, but each cake was like a meatball. I prefer one big 'un. Lemon sorbet was dessert. Super light and tart and perfect ending for lunch on a hot day.
