Bidrage med feedbackAfter shopping, we wanted a quick lunch and decided to try the cafe. However, we were disappointed to find that the menu was quite limited. Our cheese and ham toasties seemed to have been pre-made and reheated, as nothing appeared to be freshly prepared. The service was slow and not very friendly. Overall, the experience was very basic and we would only eat there again if we were desperate.
The Bombay potato, vegetable masala, sag aloo, and other dishes have a really great authentic taste. I just love them. I'm wondering what happened to the chicken masala wraps? They were really delicious but I haven't seen them in a while. I'm also a big fan of TU clothing.
My partner and I needed a quick snack before shopping in Gloucester, so we decided to visit the cafe at Sainsbury's. They offered a veggie sweet potato katsu curry, served with sticky rice and edamame beans. The portion was quite small, only about five mouthfuls, but the flavor was good. I wouldn't have wanted to pay more than six pounds for it though. My partner tried the pulled beef and cheese toastie, which was tasty. The cafe had a nice view overlooking the river, and I imagine it would be lovely on a warm day.
As Sainsburys go this one is canal facing and sympathetically designed for the canalside location. It is only a short walk from the Outlet Centre and Docks. Great for a stock up for the boater before you head up river or down the canal. The cafe food is standard supermarket fare but good value and the terrace overlooking the canal is lovely on a sunny day.
Breakfast not bad for the price, Bacon, egg, sausage, hash brown, baked beans, tomato, and toast, I added a large cup of tea, to wash it all down, all for under £6 I recommend you give it a try.
