Bidrage med feedbackMamita Peruvian is located on Brand Ave sandwiched between a BMW and Mercedes Benz dealership; easily missed as your driving by. Ambiance is nice. It's modern casual with dimly lit with soft yellows and natural lighting shining through- relaxing. The lively music playing in the background not too loud. Casual restaurant with Nice vibes. Service was polite and attentive. Food: The Aji Verde here is perfect! Not laden with mayo or too spicy, just right! Everything we ordered was delicious! The Lomo Saltado which seems to be ordered at every table was just ok to me. The meat was tough, otherwise a flavorful dish. Parking: On Brand Blvd (busy street, among a bunch of car dealerships). I didn't see valet option or private parking. Payment: Credit/Cash.
Food here is to die for! Very flavorful and delicious, glad they have an authentic Peruvian restaurant around the area. The restaurant itself is small situated on a corner near dealers. The service here was prompt, and the food here is just oh so yummy! We got the ceviche mixto, lomito lomo saltado, ý tallarin verde con bistec. All very flavorful and very filling, portion size was great proportion as well! Thank you so much, will be definitely coming back!
Went on a Sunday night so street parking wasn't a problem. Walked into the restaurant and was seated immediately. Ordered and food came out within 10-15 minutes. Food was flavorful and the sauces were good. I would recommend this place for sure. They had some issues with the lights flickering but that didn't bother me too much. Would highly recommend and the waiter was nice. -Carla B Ig: @cbanksfitness
I've been to a few Peruvian restaurants and full disclosure, Mario's is still my favorite. Having said that I try and not compare every Peruvian restaurant to Mario's but it's hard being that their food is so good. SO, I always order the Pescado Macho at all Peruvian restaurants and I did the same here. Mamita's Pescado Macho is very different from all others that I've had in that the sauce is soupy. It's not a soup, but the sauce is very watery and more soupy. My favorite part of the dish was the fried fish. Dare I say, the fried fish was even better than Mario's? But the rest of the dish was just ok. Overall, I would not order this dish again. I would order just the fried fish though. We also ordered the shrimp and chicken fried rice and the noodles with beef and both were good. Not great, but good. Now the green sauce, Aji verde sauce. I liked this one, but it was a bit more watery than Mario's and not as spicy. Still good though. Peruvian food without the sauce just wouldn't be the same. For me, the sauce made my meal more enjoyable. Overall, I would come back here if I was craving Peruvian food and couldn't make it to Mario's. However, if there was another Peruvian place in the area, I would try that first.
Mamita's is great authentic Peruvian spot in Glendale! This place is definitely a must-visit if you are craving Peruvian. Delicious food, great ambience, attentive servers, and great portion sizes as well. I can't wait to come back and try more dishes next time I visit LA. I couldn't finish my shrimp dish so I took it home and, enjoyed it for lunch the next day. It was still delicious. Also, I should mention that they have this green sauce that is made in-house that is out of this world. I've been dreaming about it and, can't wait to have it again! They even sell it at the restaurant which is great, so you can support them in that way as well! Definitely a worth it and underrated spot, which I highly recommend checking out if you're in Glendale.
