Located on Glebe Point Road, pretty much the eat street of Glebe with various choices available. This bar and restaurant is dimly lit and you encounter the bar first. You can check out the menu here and order your food and drink. Make payment and grab your number and find a table. Service is friendly and quick. Came here on a whim as wanted a quick bite to eat. Had the Drummer Cheeseburger which had a wagyu beef patty, triple cheese, tomato, secret sauce and pickles. It wasn’t the most exciting burger but was decent. Added an extra patty as well as some smoky bacon. Came with tricked-up crinkle cut chips. These had a yummy coating of parmesan, rosemary paprika. Nice and crispy.

I came here with my partner late on Friday night for a drink and some tapas, and overall we were very satisfied. The front area with the bar was quite chaotic (as is to be expected of such a venue), however, both the upstairs area and courtyard at the back offered a little bit of respite from the cacophony, and I can imagine that this would be an extremely enjoyable location to get drinks with a group of friends. We ordered up at the bar, and our food came very quickly. For bar tapas, the food was of very high quality and extremely tasty. The patties and filling in the sliders were bursting with flavour, and the buns were soft and fresh (apologies for the dark picture). The pork belly was exactly what you would hope for in a good pork belly crispy, salty skin, with meat that falls apart and the accompanying sauce and meats (chorizo and black pudding) were just a tasty bonus! The chips were also excellent. Not only were they crispy, but their cheese/spice topping added a unique savoury flavour. Overall, Different Drummer ticks many boxes, and I would eagerly visit it again!
The atmosphere here is what you would expect from a trendy small bar. Dark (very dark, actually), intimate, music, and a bar with a great list of cocktails and drinks. The also have a good selection of tapas style plates to share. Service is very minimal. You walk in and find your own table, order and pay at the bar. In terms of seating, you can choose to grab a table near the bar area, or you can walk toward the back or upstairs to the different levels. The middle level room seems to lack a bit of ambience, but it is perfect for a more quiet and intimate night. The service at the bar is somewhat slow. It takes a while for anyone to serve you and they take an awful long time to make drinks. Be prepared to wait if it's a busy night. The food is pretty decent. All plates are $12, with the exception of a few extras and sides ranging from $5 to $19. There is also the option of ordering 4 plates for $46 or 6 plates for $66 which is pretty reasonable. The warm Turkish bread 3 dips were good. The bread was generous, but although the dips were nice, they were a little on the small side, with each roughly equating to a tablespoon on the plate. The tex mex style pulled pork tacos were really good. I also enjoyed the naughty chicken, which were crumbed, deep fried drumettes a lime aioli. Our other plates of garlic prawns and pan fried chorizo were not bad too, but our least favourite were the button mushrooms with rosemary and garlic. We found it a bit bland and boring; nothing spectacular. Overall, we paid a little under $100 for 2, including drinks. For bar prices, we felt it was good value and we left extremely full. I would not hesitate to return in the future.
