Bidrage med feedbackGreat, relaxed eating. I had a great dinner here. very relaxed atmosphere, beautiful steak and venison. unpretentious but noble British cuisine and very generous portions to find mistakes, perhaps the jus on the venison was a little too sweet, but really, well worth a visit!
I recently visited a local restaurant for a burger and was a bit disappointed. The veal burger itself was tasty, but the overall meal was just average. The bun had a sweet, processed taste and wasn't toasted, causing the burger to fall apart. The smoked paprika aioli that was promised was actually regular mayonnaise. The goose fat chips were more like roast potatoes, dry and lacking in flavor, requiring extra salt. Overall, the burger was not as good as the one at Two Figs nearby, and it was also more expensive. However, the atmosphere, service, and drinks menu at the restaurant were very good.
Hungry. The portions were incredibly small, miniscule. One of our party said that he had stopped at the petrol station on his journey home and bought a chocolate bar (or 2) as he was still hungry after the 2 course meal. His starter which he said was tasteless was a ham hough terraine and the only good thing on his main course was the one and only little(and I mean little cos I saw it) sausage balanced on a bland bed of beans and potatoes, not exactly going out to pay for food The bottled beers were also strangely tiny..but with large prices. Whoever is running this place needs a wake up call. Give us tasty food at good prices and stop being such a skinflint with your portions and the...read more
One of the Best in Glasgow. My wife and I are regular visitors to Glasgow, after a recommendation from a friend we gave the Pelican a try, we were not disappointed, welcome was warm, friendly and efficient. Great wine list, very reasonably priced and a decent selection of beers bottled and on draught. Menu was interesting with a touch of old school, priced fairly and was mostly scottish sourced. Quality of the food as fantastic, crab starter as delicious, as as the game terrine. Fish and chips was fresh and very tasty, huge portion, ribeye steak was the best steak I have tasted in a long time. The red haired waiter (never got his name) convinced us to try the sticky toffee pudding...read more
I really enjoyed the atmosphere of this restaurant, rating it 4/5. The Scottish venison steak was delicious, earning a rating of 4.5/5 from me. I decided to dine here after visiting the museum, and I found the waitstaff to be very friendly and attentive.
