D'nisi Shawlands - Glasgow City

Visited here first time since was recommended to try their hot chocolate. Although the drink itself was nice enough the rest of our experience was not. Hot chocolate came and I had been asked when I ordered it if I wanted marshmallows to which I said no. No offer of cream, so when drink came it was just the simple plain chocolate, with the chocolate stick, which was fine. My husband and I ordered two veggie breakfast and after waiting 15-20 minutes the waitress brought the food which to our dissappointment was the non vegetarian breakfast, complete with bacon and black pudding. Waitress looked more annoyed than we were and she said she must have heard the order wrong. She said it would be another 10 minute wait for the veggie breakfast. When the food came it was OK, nothing special. No salt n pepper on eggs and none on table for us to add if required. I was eating it fine, until I found a blonde strand of hair in the beans. We just left at that point, couldn't bring myself to even complain to the staff, who were rushed off their feet. Won't be coming here again. The cost of £36 definitely not worth the food or service offered here. As I was leaving saw how dirty the floor was between the seats and window.

This venue is pleasant and clean and the service is excellent but the prices are far too expensive, the markup on coffee allows for competitive pricing and it should not cost this much for two coffees.

Great Coffee. Nice servers. But. Don’t understand why at 3.40 they might not bring them to your table instead of shouting “Table 2” or whatever. The temperature was cold so why have door wedged open? But nice people. Would return.

Just really poor. Ordered a flat white and poached eggs with avocado. The barista seemed confused (likely straight out of school with no training), the coffee was cold and weak and the supposed poached eggs were clearly some sort of prepackaged product and completely boiled through. It is a shame when such independent chains just aren’t any good.

I went to Dnisi with my girlfriend last week and I have to say I was unimpressed. I ordered an egg mayo sandwich and she ordered a chicken mayo sandwich. Both of which came with bread that tasted stale and rather warm filling. Worrying with chicken. She also ordered the soup (I think was brocolli and cheese) but had no desire to finish it because it was not very pleasant. The service was also rather slow and the staff seemed to have sour expressions on their faces as if they didn't want to be there. I will not be back.
