Bidrage med feedbackWent on a Tuesday and had their £3 vegan burgers, came to fill with chips so much! busy for a night, but not a slow service and played good melodies, so my group and I were happy. Just missed the band that came to 9 but definitely to see a gig again! Updated by previous review on 2022-08-03
This used to be a go-to spot for me for years, but recently Bloc has significantly raised their prices without improving the quality of their food. Vegan options are usually more affordable, but Bloc seems to be taking advantage of their vegan customers. I paid £8.95 for a small portion of loaded fries (which was actually quite tiny); it consisted of basic fries, a drizzle of mayo, some beans, and the most unpleasant vegan cheese I have ever tasted, which made me feel sick. And the £12.95 burger doesn't even come with fries, you have to pay extra for that. It's ridiculous, and I won't be returning. Updated from a previous review on 2023-01-30.
She 're handed over the menu, the front says for meat lovers and has 30 or so options. They turn the menu, says Vegan Veggie and very surprisingly it also has 30 or so options. It is also not only veganized things, they have with some cool unique vegan stuff. Strange is the only one on the Vegan Veggie menu that is not vegan is the Mac and cheese. Also some of the items on the Vegan Veggie menu have the same name as the meat, so I made it clear that I ordered the vegan. I had the Brukora, the cauliflower pakora coated in an Irn-Bru-based dough. Now I haven't tasted an Irn-Bru, but there's certainly a bizarre look I appreciated. It generally tasted very good. I also had the great Vegan Chillirama Poutine that consisted of chips that were incubated in chili and some extras. It was also very nice. The portion sizes were very generous. It's rare that I'm stuffed after a meal, although I think I got two main dishes technically. It is a very lively place and the atmosphere is somewhat missed. It feels like a bar, but the food is much better than any bar food you would normally get. I would definitely go back to try some of the other options, and I would recommend it pure for the food.
I tried the 'Soul Food Burger' and the 'Old Bay seasoned fries' at this restaurant and they were both incredibly large, filling, and delicious. The burger was the best I've ever had, I wanted to order more. They also have a great selection of vegan options on the menu. I will definitely be coming back here.
Basement bar restaurant. HUGE vegan menu. More style than flavor in the items we ordered but worth a stop for the sheer variety.
