Charcoals Cafe - Glasgow

This was a birthday meal for 5, serving as a late lunch/early dinner. The restaurant was fairly quiet, so we received attentive service. The atmosphere had a cafe vibe with simple furnishings. The food consisted of tasty Glasgow curry shop classics, which were well-prepared and served in generous portions. The only drawback was the front door that kept swinging open on windy days, making the restaurant quite chilly at times.

I have never had a bad meal at Charcoals! The curry with meat and potatoes was delicious, and my husband had biryani, which was a huge and delicious plateful. We were even given a glass of pink champagne and some chicken wings for Valentine's Day. It was such a lovely gesture. We will definitely be returning!

The food at this restaurant is fantastic, but the service leaves much to be desired. The staff seem more focused on handling takeaway orders, resulting in a long wait for our food which was served at different times.

It was Friday night and time for our first dinner in Glasgow. We were hungry for Indian food and looked on-line for our options. Charcoals seemed like an unusual name until we saw that each grilled dish was served sizzling hot. Their website pictures will leave your mouth watering! We made reservations and enjoyed fine dining in a modest setting with exceptional service. While their website doesn't mention it, they offer a good selection of reasonably priced beer and wine.
