Bidrage med feedbackTrip Advisor led me to another beautiful lunch! I chose Chipotle Adobo Beef Short Ribs with the gluten free option, although it was a was a bit disconcerting when one of the wait staff volunteered that the chef just leaves the sour cream out to make it gluten free. Advice was sought and correct information was that the pastry base was exchanged for a GF taco to make it gluten free! The meal was so tasty and full of fresh flavours - it was beautiful! The semi-open air environment is great also. Great variety of light meals as well as coffees, teas and full bar. What a great dining experience: recommended!
After reading the reviews, I decided to give this restaurant a try. The ambiance was quite gloomy with dark and depressing colors of grey and black, but the beautiful painting of a bird added a nice touch. I ordered the Pumpkin and Chorizo salad with Feta and chickpeas, which tasted okay. The service was friendly, with a young lady bringing a cold bottle of water to my table with a warm smile. However, I was disappointed to find that I had no cutlery when my lunch arrived and had to ask for it. My Lemon Lime and bitters drink was not made properly, with the bitters being added last when it should have been first. Overall, the menu could use some improvement and I wasn't very impressed with my experience.
I decided to try the lemon pepper calamari for a light lunch in the middle of the week. I found it to be decent value for money, priced at $12 for a bowl of calamari, one lemon wedge, and a dash of aioli. The calamari was cooked well and tender, but a bit chewy. I was surprised to receive a deconstructed dish, where I had to apply the lemon and pepper myself, making it a bit bland in my opinion. Adding a side of chips would have enhanced the dish. However, the service was good and I would return for another meal as I didn't have any major complaints on my first visit.
We visited in July, the food was absolutely amazing. Really yummy and a decent serving. Fresh, quality ingredients. My only negative was the coffee! Everyone has a different taste- but we found it bitter. We would return for the food though !
Well done guys for offering a great little spot, whether its for breakfast, lunch, snacks or just coffee or wine. I have visited on numerous occasions now for all of the above and have mostly enjoyed everything I have ordered (except maybe the spicy beef mini taco, as personally I found it a bit too sweet & not enough spice). On a Friday they have live music which at the time I visited was a tad too loud - as you could not converse easily with friends. However, pretty good music. Great wine/beverage list. I would like to see a few more tapas style selections on their menu but otherwise this place is probably one of the best in Gladstone - which is sadly lacking in this department.
