Bidrage med feedbackJamoneria by ARC is the best Spanish restaurant in the region. The ingredients and the cooking are authentically Spanish. You can tell because it sells Spanish meats, snacks, and canned seafood in its store and everyone who works there is Spanish. At our last dinner, we asked if there was any steak available. There wasn't, but the chef made a loin, special for us. It was delicious and we really appreciated the extra effort. There were also two daily specials at our last dinner: one was tuna and onions and the other was a white bean, chorizo, and bone-broth soup. All were fantastic. Jamoneria by ARC is one of our favourite restaurants.
Food: authenticService: authenticAtmosphere: charmingThe place: Wasn't sure what to expect. Knew the area from 25 years ago when my friends and I would drag race along Hammersmith Way in the wee hours of the a.m. it's an industrial zone. Pleasantly surprised. Loved the set up, off the beaten path, an oasis. I dig it. Very interesting change of pace. The food: It's impossible to leave without practically duplicating your tapas style meal in take away ham, olives etc. Presentation of the pre prepared food was obviously a lot better than I could do at home where I would rip ham out of the packages and put them in awkward piles on a nice cutting board. Of course it's perfect at Jamoneria. The cooked food; we had the (meat in between the) pork ribs. A simple looking dish, but delicious. Suitable for 4 I'd say. We had their spreadable chorizo, on bread, with a bit of blue cheese and honey. I'm not a fancy guy, I never eat blue cheese on purpose. But this was outstanding.Service: authentically Spanish kind, chill, honest, fun, efficient
Our experience at Jamoneria was extremely poor. Firstly, we had to pre-pay for the dine-out Vancouver menu and pay the gratuity fee without even being served yet. That is just outrageous! For $60 a person, we would anticipate that there would be enough food to fill our stomachs. However, after eating our meal, we had to go to McDonald's to fill up our hungry tummies. The food itself was very average in terms of taste and it did not taste like authentic Spanish food. The Iberico ham was particularly disappointing, and the cheesecake was smaller than the palms of our hands. We felt like we were in a fake backyard patio which was a huge detriment to the experience. I highly recommend avoiding the dine-out menu at all costs!
