Canteena - Gisborne

What an incredible breakfast! the coffee here is the best in gisborne strong and full-bodied and amazing. I had the avocado pachier and my man had rührei with speck and hashbrown. everything was so fresh and so tasteful!

To be fair, it looks like a good cafe/lunch spot. the day I was eating there, I visited. Unfortunately, I can only give it 2 stars, based on what I ate. I ordered the black bell with kichi and rice. the three pieces of pork bell were dressed in a sweet brown sauce. the kimchi was good, the tear gold. the black bell was unusable - all fat. all fat. I should have brought it back afterwards, but I had eaten with a friend and was thrilled to break the pleasant mood. Perhaps the management will read this and be more careful about the quality of the products they buy in the future.

I had lunch with my 5 year old son. both meals were very well cooked, with fresh ingredients and delicious. very efficient and warm. child menu therefore limits the 4 stars recommended.

1st time in canteena and I was pleasantly surprised. it is a small café/restaurant located in a very low transport area. Food and drink shops can be met and missed depending on the day and time they visit, as various employees or chefs are present. we were greeted by friendly staff, sat on a clean table and got water to start. we didn't have to wait too long to eat, about 10 minutes. we ordered the hühnerburger and pommes. the burgers were delicious. all crispy fresh ingredients, huhn was perfectly not boiled dry. the fries were delicious, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside; just the right thick. the waitress asked if we wanted tomato sauce...read more

Had a group luncheon for work here today was impressed with the quality of service place was bustling along. Had the Roasted Curried Lamb tossed with basmati pilaf, fried onions, boiled egg, dried fruits cumin yoghurt was delicious nice and spicy with out being too hot. Would be happy to go back there again
