The Highlander - Gilles Plains

Came here on Thursday night. maître d was hardly attentive. $40 for a steak. the biggest outlier of all time. asked for medium rare, but it came medium. also salat and veg bar were quite lame. will not come back.

The highlander has been given a total make over. It is very nice inside, where you can see into the kitchen. There is a salad bar, warm rolls and a Nutella fountain. We used the entertainment card and got a buy one, get one free. The scotch burger was very good. The meat was perfectly cooked and not chewy. The chips were good too. The chicken burger was generous in size and very tasty

Went for dinner tonight (myself, husband, Mother In Law and 7 year old son) in the Top Paddock bar on a burger and drink Scoopon deal. Our booking was at 6.30pm. When we arrived, we were told that our booking was showing to be at 5pm, and were told that the only seats they could give us was a couch, which we were very unhappy about. I pulled out my phone and showed the somewhat surly waitress (whose name I believe to be Vanessa) my confirmation email. She stated that there had been other similar errors, and that while it wasn 't our fault, it wasn 't hers either. She offered no apology. I was here for 2 separate events and I can say that the service was amazing, the personal is so friendly and the upper floor functional space is perfect for birthdays, engagements and other events. eating is great. they have a huge screen for videos and pictures. lots of parking and lift access to the top. food: 4/5 service: 4/5 atmosphere: 5/5 .more
