Although the venue is not very large, it boasts a lovely terrace overlooking the square. The menu at this brasserie features a variety of traditional Belgian dishes, making it a perfect choice for my first day in Flanders. I couldn't resist trying the famous mussels and fries, a seasonal dish available from July to February. I opted for the mussels cooked in white wine, and was pleasantly surprised when a generous portion of mussels and crispy fries, accompanied by two sauces, arrived at my table. The menu also includes pasta dishes, sandwiches, salads, meats, and fish. While the prices at this brasserie are on the higher side, ranging from 18-20€ per dish, it is important to consider its prime location in one of the city's most touristy squares. Set menus are also available starting from 22€.
The menu at this brasserie is focused on the typical dishes of Belgian gastronomy. On my first day in Flanders, I couldn't resist trying the famous mussels served with fries. The mussel season runs from July to February, and I opted for the mussels cooked in white wine. To my surprise, a generous portion of mussels arrived in a steaming pot, accompanied by a large plate of crispy fries and two types of sauces (rose and mayonnaise). The portions were so ample that I couldn't finish everything, but that didn't dampen my enjoyment of the meal. While the prices at this brasserie may be on the higher side, around 18-20€ per dish, it's worth noting that the restaurant is located in one of the most touristy squares in the city. Additionally, they offer set menus starting from 22€, providing a more affordable option for diners.
