Le Vele Pizzeria Lounge - George Town

This authentic Italian restaurant was outstanding. The pizza was as good as I have had in Rome and the owner was very hospitable. Outside dining overlooks the ocean and was a definite must.

This was our first visit to Le Vele but we will be making it a staple of future visits to Grand Cayman. Excellent Italian dishes with probably the best pizza on the Island. Outside seating has a great view of Georgetown. All in all a terrific place to take the family.

Nice place with view of the ocean and boats. nice sunset. short drive from seven mile beach. Some shopping near by for tourist. was not crowded at 5:30 but it was Christmas Eve.

Dined here on a Thursday night over the Holidays. Great view and would be a great spot for a sunset dinner if the clouds cooperate (they didn’t). THE GOOD: the fritto misto della casa appetizer, my risotto Le Vele (the tomato risotto was outstanding, the pisto risotto was very good, and the champagne risotto was good), and the key lime mousse (special not on menu). THE MEDIOCRE: her penne mare e monti (weird mustard taste pervasive in both the sauce and meat) and the service (at times personable and attentive but others absent and a little off). THE BAD: N/A

Great ambiance, over looking the ocean. Staff was great, very hospitable. The food was just okay, I had better Italian on the island. Maybe it was just what we ordered the lamb was undercooked and the seafood pasta sauce was a bit too watery.
