Ostaietta - Genoa

I enjoyed the hole in the wall ambient from this place. I saw some locals stopping by for a quick meal plus some tourists. The hostess spoke limited English but expect not much. The menu is handwritten in Italian only. I suggest to study it in advance. (Attached) I liked that the chef actually serves the food since it’s not a big restaurant and also checks on you whether you liked the dish or not. Genova is the origin of basil pesto so I recommend trying some pesto pasta. I wish I could try the fried seafood that many ordered at the restaurant but I was alone and I couldn’t eat so much. I’ll try that next time!

Local place with amazingly delicious seafood, reasonable prices and nice and welcoming hosts. We had a dinner and wanted to book room for lunch or dinner the next day, as the first impression was amazing. Unfortunately, they were fully booked as it was the weekend. To visit certain places for the next time in Genova.

The best desserts of the whole trip. Much cheaper than the city centre and very good service from all employees. Would definitely be back for dinner, but unfortunately only eat it on our last day..
