Bidrage med feedbackWe were greeted with a simple message: only Tajine or Couscus. The food was mediocre. The Kofta was like solid hockey packs. They're fleeing from chicken loaf. We asked for white wine and brought red. They screwed orders and at the end... they refused to accept credit cards, although the door had stickers that all accept!
My friend and I were cheated twice: 1) Promised discount not applied. The reservation was booked via TripAdvisor thefork with a 50% discount on the food. Before my order, I reminded the staff of my discount. I was told that the discount was promised by the previous owner, so it was invalid, but they would do a "commercial gesture" when it was time to pay. I'm happy. After the order we asked for a jug of water. We were told that customers generally drink a bottle of water. I proposed a bottle of foam water, but the waiter promised to see what he can do. And hey presto, he returned with a jug of water. When the bill came, there was no discount and no “commercial gesture”. When we asked why, we were told that the “commercial gesture” was awakened as we ordered nothing to drink. 2) No credit card payment accepted. When we wanted to pay, we were informed that only cash is accepted. I live in Geneva and this is my first time that a restaurant does not accept a card. I'll never have money with me and for me the next cash machine would have back 30 minutes. The restaurant window also shows a sign that all cards are accepted. Fortunately, my friend had money and paid for me. Regarding the quality of food, our food was fine, although a bit too oily and the spices were not all authentic. It was important that our dishes were overpriced at CHF 30, the right price would have been around CHF 22. If it was just food quality, this restaurant deserves 3 stars. In view of the menu robbed, the scam about the discounts, the scam about the “commercial gestures” and the religious refusal of a credit card they don’t even earn a single star.
I'm afraid my life is writing a review. I was physically threatened when I challenged the terrible service and overloaded for a positive hoped dinner at the Halal Restaurant El Mektoub. I was removed from another restaurant, Golestan, blocks on Rue de Monthoux...58, but for this restaurant on 5 Rue Chaponniere. Stay away! You promise a fabulous meal. You'll wait. And wait. And wait. And you could get your food late, and with an invoice you never dreamed of, even for expensive Switzerland. Bad communication, terrible service. So many wonderful places to eat in Geneva!! Don't even go. They'll follow you on the street, they'll make you believe you'll be a feast. The truth is that they will dress up with you and your wallet. Stop.
I visited today and was surprised by a food, services and place. It seems that I have been really in Marocco, nice design, friendly people are working there and food are delicious. Grilled fish with vegitables were cooked very good. Health food, romantic place, good...prices.
Bad service. Tajines were too salty. The waiter was unclear and knew no French or English.
