Trattoria Bussi - GAVARDO

Located on a peak in a hilly range, it takes about 15 mins to drive up from the ground level village below, near Salo. Here, you 'd be surrounded by sparsely populated farms and hiking trails. This restaurant doesn 't really need a review or more advertising to boost its business. It probably has more than enough word of mouth from the locals a guy I met while his kid was outside playing the in playground came from Bergamo specially for Sunday Brunch. The restaurant was packed this particular Sunday. The food offerings are honest and straight forward, and ridiculously good in its simplicity. Our family of 8 were first served assorted cold cuts and own label wines, accompanied by homemade pickles, for which the onions are a must try. Then we opted for platters of grilled meats and also spiedo breciano skewered mix bbq meats, all seasoned perfectly. These were accompanied either by polenta or fries, both of which were great. Yes even the fries, which deserves an additional mention in this review, right now. The daughter personally makes all the cakes and tarts on the dessert board, of which amongst the choices you could get chocolate and hazelnut etc, but also of fruit sourced from the neighboring farms. For the indecisive, she offers yet another platter of X different slices of cakes and tarts. Kids play in the playground, there are seats available outside as well, and 3 hammocks tied to trees.

Friendly service and very nice food. Lots of polenta . Had the slow roasted meat and spaghetti with house sauce. All very tasty. Quick serving as well.

Torniamo sempre a mangiare in questa trattoria. Facciamo sempre un paio d'ore prima, quindi prima di mangiare con i bambini facciamo una passeggiata nei boschi per raccogliere castagne, spesso troviamo funghi. e dopo una bella passeggiata nel bosco si torna a mangiare. Che dire, tutto bene di solito ordiniamo la sputa che è delizioso, anche la polenta per non parlare delle varietà di torte fatte in casa che sono deliziosi ma anche bello da vedere. Questa trattoria merita davvero. Lo consiglio perché è tutto fantastico.

Ottimo per spit e grill. in estate si possono trovare 7°C meno che in fondo alla valle.
